Player 1 will begin at the free throw line while Player 2 stands underneath the basket with the basketball. Player 1 begins moving toward the basket. Player 2 passes the ball to Player 1. The goal is to keep the basketball high and finish at or close to the rim. Player 2 rebounds each shot. After each layup, Player 1 will backpedal and repeat the action 5 times from the right elbow, from the middle of the lane, and from the left elbow.
Make it a competition to see how many layups (or how many dunks) each player can complete. You can also make the drill more difficult by having a coach create contact with pads around the basket.
