PhD Hoops is committed to the excellence of individual development through the sport of basketball. Our organization was founded in 2018 by Richie Schueler, a former college basketball player, 10-year college basketball coach, and current basketball analyst for ESPN. PhD Hoops was initially designed to give players and coaches a platform to exchange basketball knowledge, ideas, and resources with the intent of enhancing the game worldwide.

In 2019, the PhD Hoops brand expanded with its creation of PhD Hoops USA, which builds teams to represent the USA in competitive events and tournaments overseas, combining the thrill of international competition with a cultural education that lasts a lifetime. 

In Fall of 2023, PhD Hoops launched its 501(c)(3) organization with tax-deductible status as a Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation in the State of California. We are excited about this new endeavor and ability to benefit the basketball community on a global scale.
